Yes, this post is all about success.

It all started with a message I received, as I was watching a football game (world cup).

I had an interesting conversation with a young man that needed help in his professional life. He felt that he was failing many times in his job and he wanted guidance regarding the best possible way to find success.

At some point in our communication, I asked him to tell me what his vision and goals were.

He replied to me:

– I want to be successful!

I know that a lot of young people would give the same reply when asked (what are your vision and goals…?), so this is an opportunity for me to share my thoughts with you.

All about success:

If you want to achieve your goals and be successful:

“Firstly, have a definite, clear, practical idea, a goal, an objective.

Secondly, have the means to achieve your ends; wisdom, money, materials, and methods

Thirdly, adjust all your means to that end.”

Aristotle

A bright path of what you need to do!

Do not feel sorry about previous failings you had.

Do not let past failings scare you from doing what you want and need to do.

“I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed.”

Michael Jordan

Failing teaches us that we must change previous attitude or actions. In business and marketing, you must continuously find mistakes that need correction and make changes to achieve results. It is the same in life. Failing educates us that we need to see what we are doing wrong and to optimize what works (if it can be improved to be more efficient).

Try to think what you have learned from the previous failings and try not to repeat the same mistakes. Discuss it with your family or friends, if you want, to listen to another opinion or advice. Do not lose much time discussing it.

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”

Walt Disney

Now if you have determination and willingness know that:

“The beginning is the most important part of the work.”

Plato

When you start something, you invest personal time and effort. You become committed, you believe, and you act. The whole process will lead you to the next step and the next step to the other. Without the beginning, you wouldn’t do anything.

Now put into action what Aristotle said.

Please have in mind:

“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”

Albert Einstein

If you provide value, you will receive value.

So, your goals, your clear and practical idea or your objectives must provide value to others.

Do not be overwhelmed by the whole project you want to realize.

“Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs.”

Henry Ford

Split it into parts or steps.

Achieve one goal at a time and continue like that up to the final step.

“It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you don’t stop.”

Confucius

Never give up, and the universe will reward you one day. Have faith in yourself and do not stop a noble effort.

“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.”

Benjamin Franklin

When you arrive finally to your destination (success), try to remember this:

“Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose.”

Bill Gates

Last, but not least, please think thoroughly the following:

Do not confuse success with happiness.

Except if you know what you need and not what you want!

“The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less.”

Socrates

Success will come if you want it more than anything.

However, be careful of how you define success:

“Success is not about money, power, and fame …success is about wisdom, fulfillment, and completion.”

Iordanis Boutsioulis

That was my good sense of humor! I am far away from being able to quote myself!

However, I do believe that success is not about money, power, and fame.

It may include all that as a bonus, but it is meaningless and purposeless without wisdom, fulfillment, and completion.

Otherwise, it would not be “real success.”

It would be just “vanity”!
